What Does Dental Care Include?
By Dr. Eastwood – Summerbrook Dental & Implants, Fort Worth, TX
Patients often ask me, “What does dental care include?” The truth is, dental care covers a lot more than most people realize. It’s not just cleanings and fillings. Good dental care focuses on keeping your mouth healthy, fixing problems when they happen, and helping you feel confident about your smile. At Summerbrook Dental & Implants, I provide complete care so you can get almost everything you need in one place.
Dental care starts with preventive visits, which are the foundation of a healthy smile. These include your regular cleanings, exams, and X-rays. These visits help us catch cavities, gum disease, and other issues early—when they’re still easy to treat. Most patients do best with a cleaning every six months.
When problems do come up, dental care includes restorative treatments. This means fixing teeth that have cavities, are cracked, or are worn down. Tooth-colored fillings, crowns, and even root canals help repair teeth so you can chew comfortably again. If a tooth can’t be saved, we may recommend a simple extraction.
Gum health is another huge part of dental care. Many adults have some degree of gum disease, often without knowing it. If your gums are inflamed or bleeding, we may recommend a deep cleaning or ongoing gum maintenance. Healthy gums keep your teeth stable and protect the bone underneath.
If you are missing teeth, dental care also includes replacement options. Dentures, bridges, and dental implants all help restore your bite and your smile. Because I have advanced training, I also perform procedures like bone grafting, sinus lifts, snap-in dentures, immediate implants, and full-mouth implant treatments right here in the office. You don’t have to drive around to multiple specialists.
Cosmetic care is another part of dental care that many people enjoy. Whitening, bonding, veneers, and gum reshaping can help improve the appearance of your smile and boost your confidence.
And through all of this, my office stays a no judgment zone. Whether you’re great at keeping up with your dental visits or you’re starting again after years away, my goal is simply to help you get healthy and feel comfortable.
So, dental care includes prevention, repair, gum treatment, tooth replacement, and cosmetic improvements—all working together to keep your smile strong for life.
