How Many Cosmetic Dentists Are There?
By Dr. Eastwood – Summerbrook Dental & Implants, Fort Worth, TX

You might be surprised to learn that there’s no official count of “cosmetic dentists” — and that’s because cosmetic dentistry isn’t a separate dental license or specialty. Any licensed general dentist can offer cosmetic services if they’ve had the proper training. So instead of a specific number of cosmetic dentists, it’s more accurate to say that thousands of general dentists across the U.S. include cosmetic dentistry in their practice.

In fact, according to the American Dental Association (ADA), there are over 200,000 licensed dentists in the United States, and a large percentage of them offer cosmetic treatments like:

  • Teeth whitening

  • Veneers

  • Cosmetic bonding

  • Smile makeovers

  • Clear aligners

Some of these dentists focus heavily on cosmetic work and even market themselves as “cosmetic dentists,” while others may include cosmetic services as part of a broader range of care.

At Summerbrook Dental & Implants, I’ve completed advanced cosmetic training so we can deliver natural-looking, long-lasting results without having to refer patients to other offices. Whether it’s a single veneer or a full smile transformation, we design each treatment to match your goals, your face, and your lifestyle.

And as always, we’re a no-judgment office. Whether you’ve had years of dental work or none at all, we’ll meet you with kindness, honesty, and a plan to help you love your smile again.

So while we can’t say exactly how many cosmetic dentists are out there, we can promise you this — when you’re in the right hands, you’ll feel the difference.
