How Long Does It Take to Get Full Mouth Dental Implants?

If you are missing many teeth or are tired of dentures, you may be thinking about full mouth dental implants. A common question I hear from patients is, “How long does it take to get full mouth dental implants?” The answer depends on your health, your bone strength, and the type of treatment you choose.

For some patients, full mouth implants can be done in just one day. This option is sometimes called All-on-4 or teeth-in-a-day. In this treatment, we remove any bad teeth, place 4–6 implants per arch, and attach a set of temporary teeth all in the same appointment. You get to leave with a new smile right away. These temporary teeth are strong enough for daily use while your implants heal.

Even with same-day implants, the healing process still takes time. Implants need to fuse with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration, which usually takes 3 to 6 months. After healing, we replace the temporary teeth with your permanent set. These are custom-made for comfort, strength, and a natural look.

If you need extra procedures, such as bone grafting or a sinus lift, the timeline can be longer. These treatments add more support to your jaw so the implants will last. In these cases, the process may take 6 to 12 months before everything is complete.

The good news is that once your implants heal, they can last for decades—and often for life. Unlike dentures, they won’t slip, and they help protect your jawbone from shrinking. This means a stronger bite, easier eating, and a smile you can feel confident in.

At Summerbrook Dental & Implants, I use advanced 3D imaging to plan your treatment and make sure you get the fastest, safest, and most reliable result. We are a no-judgment office, so even if you’ve been without teeth for years, you can feel comfortable coming to us for help.

While the process can take a few months, the results are worth it. Full mouth implants give you back the ability to eat, laugh, and smile without worry. It’s not just about teeth—it’s about getting your quality of life back.
