How Long After Full Mouth Extraction Can I Get Implants?

One of the most common questions I hear from patients is, “How long after full mouth extraction can I get implants?” The answer depends on your oral health, bone strength, and the type of implant treatment you choose.

In some cases, dental implants can be placed the same day your teeth are removed. This is called immediate placement and is often used with treatments like All-on-4 or other full mouth implant solutions. If your gums and bone are healthy, this approach allows you to leave the office with a set of fixed teeth right away.

For others, it’s better to wait three to six months after extractions. This healing time allows your gums to close and your bone to strengthen before implants are placed. This is often needed if you have gum disease, infection, or need bone grafting.

If your bone is too thin or weak at the time of extraction, we may recommend a bone graft during or after extractions. This can take several months to heal but gives the implants a stronger foundation, helping them last longer.

At Summerbrook Dental & Implants, I use advanced imaging and 3D scans to see exactly what your bone looks like and decide on the safest and fastest plan for you. Whether you’re a good candidate for same-day implants or need a healing period, we’ll guide you through every step.

We are a no-judgment office, so it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been without teeth—we will work with you to restore your smile. Our goal is to give you a comfortable, functional, and natural-looking set of teeth you can be proud of.
